I was distressed when I found 2 of my posts giving an alternate view on Snowden had been deleted by an article writer who supported Snowden as it took time to write. A related aspect is just the reality of how I decided long ago to bring my civility with me online so having that outcome was a shock initially. I just don't get deleted so I am spoiled. If the reveal of Snowden reveals it to be much ado about nothing aka something related that we should already know, like the AT& T scandal in the Bush years with Network televised details of the secret rooms in San Francisco, and if news broadcasts can easily be looked up you can assume I am going to mention it. But the mention was deleted.
That is when my humor kicked in right after the shock and when I realized my first delete contained this element:
The idea that the supporter of "Snowden" article writer deletes a counter thought is irony at its best. This post isn't about Snowden, that writer, or who is correct, or myself but it is about how irony has a way of entertaining in the most unexpected times and subjects and sometimes that irony shines a light on our own quirky contradictions.
Upon realizing it, I more than support being deleted. Had I known the humor element of suppression while supporting anti-suppression ahead of time I may have deleted the writer first if I had the fun bucket tools for that kind of magnificent irony opportunity. So I forgive him and thank him. ;)
We humans are an odd lot so we may as well enjoy any irony while we're here.
